how about Fengzhiqiang”s Hun- yuan Chen style And Kan Gui Xiang’s?

  • lzy (author) said:

oh yeah FengZhiqiang hunyun systems is quite popular too.
Kan Guixiang is the 56 competitive routine right?

  • eseto said:

Kan is the co-creator of the 56 form, she also has her own 36
Chen simplify, and don’t forget ZHAO PAO CHEN STYLE.

  • lzy (author) said:

zhao bao players tend to see their as a seperate style rather than associated their style with chen. :p

  • eseto said:

it is just like the old frame players think they are the ONLY oringinal, but
any variation within taichi principle and theory is enriched taichi family.

  • hanxiongbabei said:

even zhaobao now has many branches like small, big frame, He small, big frame and hulei frame etc.

  • eseto said:

some Zhabao followers called themselves Wudang Zhabao, and the He do’st like it, even in Hulei there’s Xing Frame, KungFu Frame etc. same as YiRu and Er RU,there are too many forms in Chen style, let alone the whole TaiChi Family,as a TAICHI practioner to know or learn more
    is quite confusing

  • hanxiongbabei said:

yeah yilu is also the kung fu jia.

but i dun quite get what you mean about he and wudang….

that’s becos i have got a book and the title is Wudang Zhaobao xiao jiao taiji quan and actually it is He small frame. So i can’t tell why, when you said, He didn’t like the association to Wudang.

    care to elaborate?

  • lzy (author) said:

well…thought we are never sure if taijiquan came from wudang if chen wanting from chen village was the creator of taijiquan.

my guess that wudang was used as an anchor to the name;P

  • eseto said:

people always say the WUDANG’S Zhang San Feng is the creator of TAICHI, but CHEN and ZHAOBAO never agreed

  • aikiman said:

The 18 stroke is Chen Zhenglei and the 19 stroke is Chen xiaowang

  • hanxiongbabei said:

which one do you think is better, or harder or easier to learn?

  • eseto said:

did practice the 18 just old frame 1 simplified.
Aikiman, are u the same person posts on taichiproduction? u had the same
topic there, yes, there is dvd & vcd on the 18 form.

  • eseto said:

ps. hanxiongbabei, there are good points about the 18 & 19 on
TAICHIPRODUCTIONS forum, just go to the cite.

  • aikiman said:

eseto, yes, I just found this blog yesterday, I usually hang around taichiproduction :-)

  • aikiman said:

hanxiongbabei, if you have Lao Jia Yi Lu back ground, 18 stroke is easy to learn and if you already have Xin Jia background 19 steps can be pick up more easily, but for beginner then I would suggest, learn Lao Jia Yi Lu, 73 stroke

  • hanxiongbabei said:

actually i done both but don’t quite know how 19 steps was derived and therefore found 18 steps easier.

but there is left hand punch in the 19 which the 18 doesn’t have. ok, will swing by taichiproduction when i have the time!

  • lzy (author) said:

i never learnt 18-19 before and never like the idea of shortened routines. i appreciate the reason they are created for the busy urban ppl but i guess usually these ppl have no time to do a 18 stroke set too :p

  • wujj said:

I’ve learned feng’s 24. It is a mix of lao jia and xin jia

  • wujimon said:

If I’m short on time, I’d probably do the CXW 38 posture form for the variety it has. Though sometimes I just work on the first section of laojia over and over and that’s good too.

  • lzy (author) said:

1st section? it is up to the 3rd Pound Mortar?

  • JC Hendee said:

the 19 form routine is by Chen Xiaowang; the 18 form routine is by Chen Zhenglei.

There is also the 13 forms (executed in Old Frame, New Frame, or Small Frame) by Zhu Tiancai. And to expand, the 42 forms of Wang Xian. Then there is the Standardized 36 forms, the Competition 56 Forms, the Application 32 and 32 Cannon Fist by Master Peter Wu. The number of shorter modern forms developed by masters and grandmasters are numerous.
