Diagonal form

Let discuss the next form in Old Frame Routine 1 – Diagonal form. Based on my experiences, this stroke will requires you to spend some effort before you could make it look smooth and elegant. Well, you haveto do it thrice in the routine so you will get lots of practise.

It has a Big Waist movement where you twist your waist from the right (while standing) to the left (while bending down the upper body). Could look funny if you doing it for the 1st time especially for people like me who couldn’t twist properly… (no dancing lessons before) .

It is also known as 7 inch lean 七寸靠 as effectively it is a shoulder strike at a low level. Quite vicious isn’t it? :p

Hi, I’m from Singapore(I think you are from Singapore too right?) and would like to know where you take your lessons.
Since I’ve been keen on learning authentic taiji for sometime(few years) and did not start since I do not know of any proper teachers. (Most ads I’ve seen are the shortened or watered down forms which is more like light exercise for old people…)

Can you reply to my email as well ? Since I might not be able to find this website again.
    Thanks.

There is also 7-inch barge in the movement pie shen qui. The ending posture of xie xing is also quite interesting as it require the hand bow to be strung quite obviously, like dan bian.

pie shen qui… yeah u can do a 7-inch barge in there but we do not do it so low here. usually we do it as a shoulder barge. 肩靠

it seems in both the movement there is bei zhe kao 背折靠 where you can do it low or high. diagonal form can also be done high if i am not mistaken
